Carriagehill Nursery – Paisley Childcare
We are a small family owned nursery, with two locations close to the centre of Paisley. Established in 2000, we provide quality childcare in a safe, secure and stimulating environment.
We appreciate that choosing childcare is one of the most important and emotive decisions that a parent will make. We aim to make using our nursery as stressfree and enjoyable as possible, for both child and parent.
We have an open-door policy and you are welcome to visit at any time. We would enjoy the opportunity to show you round our facilities and answer any questions you may have about our service.
We look forward to meeting you and your child!
A big thanks to everyone who helped, and turned out to, our Christmas Concert and Christmas Fayre. Both were a great success and all funds raised will be put to good use within the nursery!
Both nurseries will close at 1pm on the 24th December for Christmas, and reopen on the 5th of January 2015.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!!
With a lot of hard work, and huge involvement from children, parents, and staff, Carriagehill Drive has recently been awarded the Eco Schools Green Flag!
This is the highest level of award, and is recognition of all of the effort in recycling bottle lids, clothes, plastic and paper, taking care of the garden and grounds, litter picking, and growing fruit and vegetables.
We have ordered a flagpole and hope to hold a short celebration one Saturday morning to unfurl the flag! Thanks to everyone who has been, and is, involved in our eco committee, and eco activites!!
We have also been getting good use of our smartboards, with the children signing themselves in and out of nursery, helping them to recognise and learn their names!
In the last few months the children have had a number of fun days, with children of all ages taking part in the Pirates and Princesses fundraising day, Wear something Red on Valentines day, and Sports Relief.
At Carriagehill Drive, we are learning about weddings! The children have been dressing up, bringing in photos of their parents and family member’s weddings, and have even visited the kilt shop!
Happy New Year from everyone at Carriagehill Nursery! We said goodbye to 2013 with our Christmas festivities; our Christmas fayre, and a brilliant Christmas concert courtesy of children (and staff, and parents!) at both nurseries! Thank you to everyone who attended.
We hope that everyone had a lovely festive season, and wish all the best for 2014.
We have also been celebrating Chinese New Year, and at Carriagehill Drive, Charlie’s mum spent a full afternoon teaching the children about the different traditions. Thanks to Evelyne, they had a great day learning about Chinese culture!
After a long, mild summer, autumn has hit us suddenly! Both nurseries have had the pleasure of visits from our Summer leavers, showing off their new school uniforms, and we are glad to hear that everyone is settling in well at Primary School! Both nurseries, are back into the swing of things after the fun activities of the summer programme, and we will soon be beginning preparations for our Christmas events!! (dates for all events:Dates for Your Diary!)
The Brambles (3-5) at Green Road have, as shown above, been learning about transport!
We have been making the most of the spell of good weather, and children at both nurseries have been spending lots of time both in the garden, and at local parks! The summer programme has been very popular, and the children have enjoyed outings, and activity days; a crazy hair day, a beach party, teddy bears picnic and many more. With the start of the new school year, our summer programme has ended and it is back to business as usual!
We wish our pre-school children the best of luck as they leave to start their first year of school!
Carriagehill Drive recently held a garden day, and we had a lovely day planting in our garden with the help of parents and siblings. We had a picnic, and some parents helped us to make a maze, by recycling plastic bottles, like the one in the Carriagehill Nursery Green Road garden!
Writing our names in the frost!
Enjoying our visit from the Christmas Clown!
Halloween in the Brambles room!
At Green Road we learned about healthy eating- taking advantage of our allotment and the ‘great’ British summer, growing a variety of vegetables, and learning about food groups using the “Eat well to play well” pack.
Carriagehill Drive learned about the body, making this eye to show off their knowledge!
